How does the Survivorship Collective work with Indigenous wisdom carriers?

From day one, we have included Indigenous wisdom carriers in our leadership and advisory circles. Their voices and guidance have helped shape the vision and values of the Survivorship Collective from the start.

When wisdom carriers choose to participate in our retreats — whether through cultural teaching, grounding practices, or ceremonial presence — we approach this through relationship and reciprocity, not tokenism or appropriation.

Our commitments:

  • Relationships first

  • Clear, co-created agreements

  • Generous compensation and direct support for the wisdom carrier’s broader community

  • No recording, replication, or commercialization of teachings without explicit consent

  • Adapting our approach to each location (Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico Netherlands) in conversation with Indigenous leaders

This is not a checkbox for us. Reciprocity is a living practice — one we are committed to evolving through ongoing accountability and care.
